Welcome to Ogden, UT

Here we are! Ogden, Utah where the National Conference of Undergraduate Research is being held this week!

Flight Number 2

Our flight to Salt Lake City left at 10:50 pm Chicago time or there abouts. I was just happy to get on the plane to Utah!

The Search For Food...

When in Chicago do as thee Chicagoans do. And eat pizza pie!

Welcome To Chicago!

Well here we are in sunny Chicago, it was good to get off that plane and stretch our legs...which we did, going to all the terminals to find ours and then realising it was the first one we were at to begin with! But we got to see the airport and all the pretty colours of each terminal :D. As our flight was so far ahead the screens weren't showing them to begin with and there was nobody to ask. 

Still, I enjoyed the monorail trips and seeing my first real yellow cab. Awesome!

Once at our terminal the search for entertainment and food began... x

Flight Number 1

This is us flying out of Good Britannia and arriving at the coast of the big US of A. This was an 8 and a half hour flight overall but the food was good and they kept you well supplied with drinks! My favourite was the Cranberry and apple Minute Maid...yum.

We landed in Chicago at around lunchtime their time I think but with around a 6 hour wait before our next flight, we went for a wander and in search of more food...yum x

First Things First ...

We've already had a few days in Utah and at NCUR, a few very busy days (apologies), but here is the beginning of our trip in photos.

Personally, I caught the 6:05 am train to Manchester airport with 4 other UCLan students. Once there, bright and early we meade out way to Terminal 3 where everyone was meeting for around 7:40 am. Then we got ourselves a bloomin' good breakfast for the long trip ahead of us.

We flew with American Airlines and they were great, checking in and everything went fine, especially for a group of 12, then just the wait until the flight at 10:40 am. It would have been rude not to make use of the breakfast facilities anyway! x

We Made It To Ogden !

After about 24 hours travelling, 1 train, 2 planes, several monorail trips (don't ask) and a taxi ride have eventually got us all safely into Ogden, UT. Having been up for about 27 hours, its a welcome relief to check in to our lovely hotel.

2 Days To Go !

Less than 48 hours before we all leave on our bright and early start for NCUR!

First Post For NCUR Trip !!

NCUR is drawing near and everyone is editing their posters / presentations

 ready for the big day.

We have a great support team with the Undergraduate Research Internship Scheme (URIS) here at UCLan helping with all the organising. Changing poster sizes, speaking rehearsals and arranging early morning flights...thanks guys!
